Introduction Of Accounting For Accounts Clerk

Course Objective

The objective of the training programme is to provide the knowledge and skills required to become an accounts clerk. The training programme also aims at providing the fundamental accounting principles required to continue education and boost learners career in the accounts department.

What will I learn?

The learning outcomes of the training programme are as follows:

  • Understanding the accounting principles, concepts, and be able to apply in the business operations.
  • Understanding the accounting system to maintain proper accounting records and be able to prepare relevant accounting records.
  • Understanding the accounting systems to prepare relevant accounting reports.
  • Understanding the value added tax, individual income tax, and corporate tax.
  • Understanding of payroll system, 'contribution sociale généralisée' (CSG), tax deducted at source (TDS), and pay as you earn (PAYE).

What is the course duration?

The duration of the training programme shall be 5 sessions of 5 hours.

The training programme is internally assessed as per the Internal Quality Assurance of the training institution. Certification:

Successful candidates will be awarded an official certificate from the institute, which can be used to validate their newly acquired knowledge and skills.

Career Path:

Candidates may progress to the Accounts Officer Training programme or any other accounting training programme.

The training programme is MQA-approved and qualifies for a HRDC refund .

Sooruj is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with working experience at the Big-4, renowned international audit firms. He is the Managing Partner at Mannick & Associates. He is specialized in the preparation of financial statement, auditing, taxation, and management consultancy for a diverse portfolio of Mauritian businesses, including sectors such as textiles, retail, hotels and restaurants, and job contracting. Sooruj is also a registered member of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants, having obtained his Practising Certificate from the ACCA and a Public Practice Certificate from the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants. Authorized by the MIPA to act as a Public Accountant and by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) as a Licensed Auditor.
