Strategic Stress Management Approaches

Course Objective

Stress has been described as the Health Epidemic of the XXI Century by the WHO. With rapid advancement in technology causing various changes in work and lifestyle, many people have been struggling to cope with increased demands. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the context of work has seen further developments that have changed how people behave in the workplace. The subsequent rise in human factors has seen workers’ physical and mental health come even more to the forefront.

In order to encourage and preserve good health and wellbeing in the workplace, it is important to understand the role of stress at work and how to properly manage it. An effective well-being strategy would see employees happy and motivated, with renewed vigour and desire to be productive, thus making the business profitable. On the other hand, ignoring the effects of stress could lead to unwanted results like carelessness, injuries, loss of motivation, poor engagement, or even death. Coping techniques and measures can be a combination of individual and collective ones, to give the best possible outcomes for employees and employers alike.

This training is designed to help professionals and organisations, irrespective of size, nature, and scale of business, whether private, public, and/or NGOs to have the moral, social and economic reasons to ensure good physical and mental health of their staff to align with sustainable development goals and international and local compliance to legal, regulatory, and societal requirements.
